Man charged following investigation into historical sexual abuse offences

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged historic sexual abuse of youngsters within the state’s Hawkesbury region through the Eighties.

Detectives connected to Hawkesbury Police Area Command established Strike Force Twill in October 2022, following a selection of reviews of alleged youngster intercourse abuse that occurred at a holiday park in Wisemans Ferry.

Police have been told between the years 1982 and 1987, a resident of a vacation park allegedly sexually assaulted numerous young boys.



Following intensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 60-year-old man in Wisemans Ferry, about 9am Thursday (20 July 2023).

He was charged with 22 baby sexual assault offences and one depend of common assault.

He was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday (21 July 2023), to reappear at the same court on Friday 29 September 2023.

As inquiries continue, police are interesting for anybody who might have the ability to assist detectives, including anybody who holidayed in the area at the moment and witnessed suspicious behaviour.
